Easy Access from Sydney just over the Blue mountains. We have a new four bedroom house available with 360 degree views of the NSW tablelands and close to Historic Bathurst, Australia's oldest inland town. Bathurst offers goldfields, wineries, national parks and nature reserves in easy driving distance.
This is a new, comfortable, solar passive designed house, built in two self contained sections for a family with four adult children. It is on a 500 acre farm which runs Angus cattle on native pasture. The vegetation is a native "grassy Box Woodland" which is an endangered ecosystem. Half of the farm is committed to conservation of the woodland.
The farm has Lake frontage and fishing can be arranged for trout, red fin and "Yellow belly". The Fish river - the first inland river discovered in Australia - is a popular trout fishing river.
We are mature professionals interested in travel, wildlife conservation, history, politics ... pretty much everything really and we would enjoy hosting like minded people. We would like to share our farm and house with international or local visitors.
The drive through Sydney takes three hours and takes you past Katoomba and other well known tourist sites. An alternative return route along the The Bell's line of Road travels through The Blue Mountains National Park and stunning scenery. Alternatively there is a comfortable train (the Dubbo XPT) which leaves Sydney early in the morning and returns every evening. We can collect you from the Tarana station.
The house is self contained and visitors can be self catering, can enjoy meals supplied in private or can join us for as many meals as they chose. Food can be locally sourced and organic for those who wish to restrict their food miles. We are developing a large vegetable garden. The quoted price is per person for a self catered stay with tea and coffee and simple breakfast ingredients supplied.
