Art-deco pure silk Kimono from around the mid 1930's.
It is a very vivid blue colour (Cobalt perhaps) with a stylish, simple, floral print. It is 100% silk and is in excellent condition considering it is over 70 years old. Being Silk, it is quite heavy due to the quality of the Silk used.
The inside backing material in-side does show age-staining which is not visible from the out-side.
You could wear the Kimono as a stylish dressing gown perfect for lazing around reading the Sunday papers or you could do what I have done. I have one of those cheap clothes racks which I display the kimono's I have on. You can pick them up from Target or K-mart for under $10.00. The added bonus is you can move it around quite easily to suit your mood.
The kimono is great as a display item as shown in the photos and a very stylish statement piece.
